| T' was a beautiful day at Brushy Creek, if you were just camping. There was a bluebird high sky with no wind. The water was like a sheet of glass. Water temp was in the low 70's and about 2 feet low. Some cloud cover moved in with a light breeze about 11:00 am.
19 members made the trip and set out in 14 boats. It was a long hike up that hill from the ramp to the parking lot. All of that huffing, puffing, and wheezing from the older members at the weigh-in sounded like an obscene phone call. Fishing was tough, but as usual the tough found some fish. There were 6 - 3 fish limits brought to the scales. All but 6 members weighed in at least 1 bass. We had 29 bass for 69.36 lbs brought to the scales.
1st Greg Schadle 3 fish 8.18 lbs 2nd Bob Prochazka 3 fish 7.38 lbs 3rd Chris Hester 3 fish 7.36 lbs 4th Brian Logan 3 fish 7.02 lbs. Big Bass Mark Wills 3.74 lbs.
I think that I know what Booyah used for their Pad Crasher Frog mold. It had to be a female frog. Every time that you threw a frog on top of the grass beds, the male frogs closed in and tried to molest the fake frog. I have not seen that much action since I was hanging out after ladies night at Woodies. Not bad for an old guy.
There was some movement in the Angler Of The Year stats after the tournament. The complete Excel stats are attached. The top 10 are listed below:
1st Brian Logan 41.14 lbs 2nd Jordan Irwin 39.30 lbs 3rd Bob Prochazka 39.08 lbs 4th Mark Wills 34.46 lbs 5th James Cook 33.26 lbs 6th Lynne Schnoebelen 32.16 lbs 7th Jason Hewitt 30.32 lbs 8th Doug Stiff 28.16 lbs 9th Bob Bena 26.24 lbs 10th Chris Hester 25.22 lbs Posted for the benefit of anyone headed over there.

| Thanks for the report! You are exactly right about the frog on frog action!
Lynn fished down here on Saturday, pretty sharp Blazer boat he's got. Well...cept its Yellow ;) I believe he fished with his wife, they were 1 of the 3 teams that were sponsored by Riverside Casino, so we had to get a group pic to send to them. Nice fella.

| Thanks for the report Denny, don't know how I missed this post but I did. Sounds to me like the fishing has been pretty tough at Brushy Creek this year.
Far as the frog on frog action I fight that on the river all the time no matter what frog I throw. Even a buzzbait they will chase from time to time. Those frog are very territorial and not afraid to attack about anything. | |
